The End of the Road

Big Sky Country – Montana

At the washing trough….

Is this fun or what?!?!

Our meagre find……only a few were worth the cost of faceting.

Three Billy Goats Gruff!

Glacier-carved valley in Glacier National Park.
The road follows the river south, out of the park.
Truly, a spectacular drive…….

……..in either direction.

Cliffs and waterfalls and Bear Grass.
Views don’t get much better than this, do they?
Just drive on and leave me here!

Bear Paw Battlefield.

The occasional commemorative marker – this one indicating where Looking Glass was killed.

Looking north from “The Hill” of Custer’s Last Stand.

Markers of the Army’s fallen with The Hill and the American Monument in the distance.
The top of the hill – Custer’s Last Stand……Mrs. Custer lost both her sons here.

The Indian Memorial, acknowledging their perspective on the battle.

Mile after mile of open road…….
….and mile after mile of sweet yellow clover.

Devils Tower….Re-Me-Do-Do-So…….or…..D-E-C-C-G. 😉
The Indian Legend of how the striations were formed.

More Devils Tower. The climbers in the background didn’t come out.

Hangin’ out with The Sundance Kid.

Only in America…….

Final resting place of Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane.

Deadwood…..a detour we could have done without.

Dark sky, green/yellow fields and a beautiful rainbow.

So glad this wasn’t our assigned campsite.

Badlands National Park, a suitable name…..
Lush vegetation, Badlands version.
Guess who didn’t bring a water bottle? Ooops!

Living during the decline of Western Civilization.

Rest area along I-90 at the Missouri River….a definite divide between west and east.
Finishing where we started, at Sidrabene.

When will you be back on Waterside? Some of us discussed getting together for dinner. Love to have you join Dina.

Hey Candice! We hope be be back around the 8th. But if everyone agrees on a dinner date, just let me know. We are not far away so I could probably make it. Looking forward to catching up and hearing about what has changed in the ‘hood. 🙂

Glad you made it home safe and sound, but I’ll miss your monthly posts. I learned a great deal from them. Maybe an expanded version of your travels in a kindle book? It might help with the detox not being so difficult, lol. Hope to see you both in the near future. ❣️

Hi Catriona! Yes, a get-together is definitely in the near future. It will be great to catch up and see what you and yours have been up to. I’ve thought about a kindle book type but not sure how I’d go about doing that. But I’ll definitely give it some thought.
